If you haven t read any of G.X Chen s works before now, I think checking out the collection is a great idea Namely because Chen s books are always intriguing and layered not only in mystery but steeped in cultural storylines that are rarely explored in other novels in the mystery genre. This book, the third in the Back Bay Investigation series, was one of my favorites in the series I like seeing how the characters have progressed and Chen honestly writes these characters in such a fashion that, a [...]

Another entertaining, interesting and intriguing story by G X Chen I took time savoring all the details in this book In addition to the mystery of the suspense, I enjoyed reading the detailed description of the sceneries in Italy, the detail account of historical events during culture revolution and the twisted ending of the love story of the amateur detective Ann This is the book for readers to take time to read in order to appreciate and enjoy some might say the pace is a little slow, but that [...]

OK This is what I get for judging a book by the cover I got this book for free, the only reason I bought it is, because of the picture of the hotel on the front It was a lovely place my family and I stayed in Bellagio, Italy, and Lake Como For starters, I really do not like a classic who done it This book reads like a bad episode of Scooby Doo It was a short novel, but quite frankly I m surprised I finished it If you re interested in this novel, don t bother.

    5. Sylvia says:
After you read this, you will at least want to visit Lake Como, for sure Every book I read by Ms chen, I learn something new about the Chinese Culture, the Culture Revolution, although a very sad period of the Mao s era You would not want to read a mystery book without a few surprises, and you won t be disappointed The Chinese names may take a little to get the hang of it, exercising the brain is a good thing

    6. Katherine Barber says:
I thought there were just too many coincidences that just happened to come together Please Also, I had to stop listening to the audio version and complete with my Kindle due to the irritating voice and intonations of the narrator.
